Kind words from parents about my role as a Doula

"Thank you for your extraordinary love & kindness throughout my birth. You are amazing, and I'm so lucky to have had you as my doula. I couldn't have done it without you. Honestly, we're so blessed to of had you".

Emma & Sebastian

"We feel so overjoyed that you've made it into our life. Your support and nurturing disposition are seen from a mile away. You're a fantastic doula and person, and we hope you know how thankful we are for you".

Iman & Corban

"I know that I couldn’t have laboured right to the very end at home without Amber. She knew when to head to the hospital, helped me speed things along, continually suggested different calming techniques and positions to ease my discomfort, and also supported my partner in supporting me. I trusted her with my whole heart and I 100% recommend her to any woman out there planning to have a bub."

Lisa

“Thank you so much for everything! From supporting us with your positive, non-judgemental generosity and enthusiasm in the third trimester, to your considered and helpful resources and text messages, to the beautiful oxytocin - promoting energy you helped create during our labour. You personally committed to ‘hold space’ for us and I felt that deeply when it came to the big day”.

Emily & Dylan

“We’re so incredibly thankful for all your support in the lead up to and during our baby’s birth. Your calm and reassuring presence made all the difference during those intense moments - we’re not sure what we would have done without you. We’re deeply grateful for all your help. Your kindness and expertise will be forever etched in our hearts, and we’ll always remember the incredible support you provided. “The most helpful aspect for me was having someone who understands all birthing options and information in one place as a member of my support team, providing me the confidence to push for a water birth. This alleviated a lot of the stress for me, and allowed me to focus on the important parts, keeping my health and energy up. I felt I had more control of my own birthing process, and knowing I had a team with me was a huge part to the success of the birth of my second child.
Compared to my first birth, the difference was night and day”.

“The most important aspect for me was understanding my role in the birthing process, and knowing I can actively participate, and that birthing can be a team effort, not just the sole responsibility of the mother. With our first child, I was clueless as to how I could help. Literally stood on the sidelines watching, not knowing how I could help, everything was left to the midwife team. I did not understand the boundaries and rules of the birthing process either”.

“Amber’s support and experience made a huge difference during the labour, the guidance and support was invaluable. We did not have a doula for the birth of our eldest child and the experience was not a positive one as we did not have a doula to help us advocate”.

Kim

“Amber’s advocacy for a natural birth and empowering me with the knowledge and natural techniques helped me tremendously. Particularly when we found that my baby had turned, Amber suggested a Spinning Babies technique which I feel helped make space for my baby to move through my pelvis”.

“We could not thank you enough for being there to support the birth of our baby boy, and any families who are looking for a doula and deciding whether or not to have one present we highly recommend it and highly recommend Amber as your doula”.

“As a second time parent who experienced trauma from birthing in a hospital, I was adamant that I wanted a Doula to help my partner & I navigate the system whilst preparing to attempt a VBAC. After meeting Amber, it was obvious that she was exactly what I needed to support my partner & I through the journey. Her gentle demeanour and encouraging ear helped me navigate the hospital system with eloquence, determination and conviction. Amber was equally supportive of my partner and I believe her guidance essential to him becoming an effective supporter of the birth I wanted. I successfully achieved my unmedicated VBAC and whilst I barely remember Amber's presence in the room, I know she was an important element to my success. Plus those chocolate peanut butter energy balls were a welcomed treat whilst holding my newborn daughter”.

"Amber you have always made me feel safe, supported and validated. You helped me course correct our model of care and helped me to appreciate the power of my body so that I could go into birth excited and ready to meet my baby. Your line of work is a gift, but how you work has been the ultimate present. You will forever be part of our village."

“Amber was THE best decision we made during our pregnancy journey. She will forever have a special place in our hearts for all the value, love and care she provided us with. Amber was 110% invested in us from the moment we met her, and was so genuine during all her interactions. She’s caring, attentive and always went above and beyond. Amber is the main reason I felt empowered, safe and supported during my hospital birth 🥹 she really held space for my husband and I. There is no doubt that I will have Amber for my next birth (I will message her as soon as I find out I’m pregnant again 🤣). Thank you Amber, no words can accurately describe how thankful I am for crossing paths with you”.

“As a first time mum with all our family interstate I didn't know how my I'd navigate the challenges of the postpartum journey. I'm so glad I had Amber to walk by my side. She is a true baby whisperer who gave me the confidence to step into my new role knowing that she'd gently steer me in the right direction if I was going off track. I'm incredibly grateful to have had such a wonderful start to motherhood and know that much of it is due to Amber's loving warmth, kindness and incredible knowledge. I cannot recommend Amber enough and she will forever be a part of our son's incredible start in this world”.

— Sarah & H - Postpartum

“It was a no brainer for us when we first met Amber to have her apart of our pregnancy and birthing journey. We immediately felt safe and understood at our first catch up and are so grateful to Amber being present at our labour. The most helpful aspect was how committed Amber was, that took alot of pressure off to know we had someone all in with us as this was our first baby. She ensured both Ross and I were fully supported during the labor. From amber's knowledge of the process of birth, the guidance I received during the labour, the positions I was placed in, the acupressure and essential oils to the music, all of it was so so helpful”

“We both felt like Amber created a dynamic where we felt like a team all working together. And that was huge, because it meant everything could flow while the baby lead the labour, Ross could support me fully while Amber guided us all through with her warmth and birth knowledge. It kept us feeling safe and able to trust the process, as I was to birth as naturally as possible with little intervention, and I did get to that and birthed Romy as naturally as I could. Amber was always one step ahead and knew just what we needed through each moment.”

The way she prepared us for the birth was so concise, holistic and helpful. I appreciated her appointments as she really captured who we are as people, respected and honoured the birth plan we put together, as we had a few obstacles in our way with an impromptu change of hospital and potential induction.

Amber went above and beyond, with providing nourishing food, magnesium and hydrating me during birth. She respected my decisions during the Labor and supported Ross and I through every step. Honestly, I don't really remember the midwives, I really only remember Amber and Ross right by my side as Amber was so present and compassionate. I can still smell the essential oils she used on a cool towel, which she placed on my forehead whilst I was labouring in the bath.

— Mia & Ross

“As first time parents, we were so grateful to have your support. You provided clear guidance to empower us to make informed decisions. Our labour experience would be very different without your support, especially when we hit the ‘crisis of confidence’. We felt assured and guided through those moments, and we had the labour and birth we wanted.  Thanks for being a critical part of our birth team, your thoughtful and nuanced approach ensured that the whole experience was still very personal to the two of us and we had full ownership of the decisions we made”

— Sasha & Chris

“Amber was an incredible source of support throughout our entire birth journey. From the moment we began working together, her warmth, humour, knowledge and unwavering encouragement made us feel empowered and prepared for what lay ahead.

On the day of our baby’s birth, Amber’s presence was truly invaluable. She was our advocate, guide and our rock. Her ability to balance strength and gentleness created a space where I felt safe, supported and capable. Not only did she hold me through the intensity of labor (and decorate the birth suit and dance with us to our birth playlist) but she was also an incredible support for my partner Dave, helping him navigate the experience with confidence and calm throughout the 25 hour labor! We laughed, we cried and leaned on Amber in ways we never expected. She is truly gifted in what she does, and we cannot imagine having gone through this experience without her. We are forever grateful for helping us bring our baby girl into the world.

Her post natal support and birth debriefing was also invaluable a full circle service of support and Joy.  “
